Middle School Classes

"Will my child be ready for high school?"

This is a question we hear all the time coming from concerned parents in an ever-changing world.  The educational philosophy we support here at ECCS will, we believe, not only prepare them for the future challenges of high school but allow them to excel.

Our goal is to inspire, instill a thirst for knowledge and create lifelong learners.

We don't "teach to the test."  We develop critical thinking and problem solving skills so that students grow into responsible adults with confidence and a strong work ethic.

We cultivate both writing and public speaking skills and have watched many students discover and strengthen their natural abilities in these areas.

Because of our small class size we are able to nurture relationships so students can learn to avoid the pitfalls of peer conflict.  We train our students to be good models for younger students and strive to create a student-driven atmosphere of acceptance and kindness.

We don’t turn a blind eye to the controversial topics we know life in high school will confront them with.  Instead, we provide a foundational Christian Worldview with which they can filter all their future decisions.  We truly believe what the bible says that if you “train a child up in the way they should go, when they are older they won’t depart from it.”

Our unique “curriculum rotation” allows each Middle School subject to work in tandem.  So, for example, while the Renaissance Period is being taught, all subjects are geared toward that time period.  Since each cycle is being taught on level to grades 6-8 at the same time there is a unifying cord that runs between the classes.  Each year builds upon the last and works chronologically so that ultimately students can recognize God’s unfolding plan through the ages and their part in it.

Perhaps most importantly, we have the uninhibited opportunity to relate all subjects and topics to God and the morals encompassed by Christianity.

So, will your child be ready for high school after graduating from East Cobb Christian School?  Our track record of success speaks for itself.
