Nancy Hull

Fifth Grade

What I value the most about being a teacher is the realization that I can make a difference in a child’s life. In the scheme of things, I have but a slice of his/her life. I want to make every day count for each child. Beyond academics, children need to know they are valued, appreciated and respected. Sometimes that may mean going to the child who appears lonely and speaking kind words of encouragement. My students gave me a gift that says, “To teach is to touch a life forever.” Touching the lives of my students in positive ways is my goal as a teacher.

Nancy has been teaching at East Cobb Christian School for 18 years. Her passion to make a difference in students' lives has only increased throughout the years. She thanks God that she has been able to be a part of this unique school.

Nancy graduated from Troy State University in Alabama with a bachelor's degree in History and Social Sciences. She received her master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University.

Nancy gravitated toward teaching in her church work beginning in high school. After her youngest child started school, she started substituting in the public schools for about five years. She was a regular substitute at Dickerson Middle School for four years. In 1989, she started teaching 2nd grade at ECCS. She then taught a combined 4th and 5th grade class for a few years before settling in to teach 4th grade. In 2007 she moved to 5th grade. Nancy looks upon her work as a ministry in coming beside parents to assist them in preparing their children for whatever God has planned for them. It is a big responsibility, one she does not take lightly. She knows she must rely on God daily for His wisdom, guidance and strength.
